We take refuge in the Buddha.
May we, with all living beings,
Deeply experience the Great Way and
Give rise to the supreme aspiration.
The secret of the Buddha Way is to be in harmony with those around you.

We take refuge in the Dharma.
May we, with all living beings,
Embrace the riches of the sutra and
Make our wisdom as wide and deep as the sea.
Flowing like water, become ready to accept whatever occurs.

May we, with all living beings,
Guide the great community and
Be freed from all hinderances.
The secret of being loved is to love. The secret of being persuasive is to listen.

RKINA (Rissho Kosei-kai International of North America)
Our teacher is the Buddha Shakymuni and his teachings, that we call the Dharma, came through India through China and Korea to Japan. We Practice Ekayana, “The One Vehicle”, based on The Threefold Lotus Sutra, teaching us respect for all living beings. In our practice we chant, study, and strive to bring harmony in our lives and in the lives of others.
Sutra Recitation
Daily recitation of excerpts from the Lotus Sutra is one of the most essential religious practices in which Rissho Kosei-kai members engage.
Sharing the Teachings
"For the sake of the peace and happiness of the people of the world, go into all regions and preach the doctrine.” Buddha said to his disciples. Following that example, we strive to share the Buddha’s teachings with many people.
